Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
Genesis 22:17-18 NKJV
This promise traces back to Genesis 15:5, when Abraham had not yet been given a son. Still, he trusted God's word, and his faith was credited to him as righteousness.
However, in Genesis 16, Abraham took matters into his own hands, and Ishmael was born. Despite his missteps, God remained faithful.
We see this reaffirmed in Genesis 26:4, when the same promise was passed on to Isaac, the son God had originally promised.
In our own lives, we may often feel overwhelmed and find it difficult to trust in God's goodness. But we are called to believe, even when we can't see the outcome. In time, His promises will be fulfilled. Like the countless stars in the sky, we may never fully grasp the impact of our obedience to His voice, the breakthroughs it will unlock and the lives it will touch.
