And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Titus 2:11-14 (NKJV)
While taking a walk, a friend of mine had her attention drawn by the Lord to the striking pink and yellow blooms of a frangipani tree. Frangipani flowers often bloom on seemingly bare, stark branches, much like a life stripped of ungodliness and worldly lusts, waiting for new life. Yet, out of that apparent dryness, vibrant beauty bursts forth, beautifully mirroring how the grace of God appears to teach and empower us to live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
Frangipanis are known for their incredible resilience and renewal; they can easily take root and flourish even when a branch is cut and separated, relying entirely on their inner vitality to start anew. As we dwell upon Jesus and stay deeply connected to Him as our true vine, we find that same resilience. His grace redeems us from every lawless deed and anchors our hope in Him, transforming us into His chosen people, zealous for good works.
